Indicative estimate, excluding VAT, based on high-end market prices and average output rates. It is not a quote: the final price depends on a site visit, existing documents and the information requirements. How we calculate the estimate

Send us the estimate: your parameters travel with the message and a BIMON engineer will reply within one working day.

The estimate combines two parts: the laser scan survey on site and the BIM modelling. The survey depends mostly on floor area and on how fragmented the building is: a warehouse is scanned far faster than a hospital. Modelling depends on the level of detail: a model with MEP takes five to ten times longer than an architectural model.

Prices start from the high end of the Italian and European market and include survey, point cloud registration, model and quality control. A building in use, night work, difficult access and urgency increase the cost. The figures are reviewed periodically and do not replace a quote.

A complete request for quotation also needs the purpose of the model, the information requirements if they exist, delivery formats and the documents available. Our Scan to BIM quote guide explains what to ask for and what to check.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Scan to BIM cost per square metre?+

Survey included, from about €4/m² for a low-detail architectural model up to €18-30/m² for a high-detail model with MEP, excluding VAT, with a minimum order. The real price depends on the building, the requirements and site conditions.

How long does it take?+

An office building is typically surveyed at 1,500-2,000 m² a day, a hospital at about 1,000. Modelling usually takes longer than the survey: 5,000 m² at medium detail generally takes five to nine weeks overall.

Is the estimate a quote?+

No. It is an order of magnitude based on average prices and output rates. The quote follows a site visit or a review of the documents and information requirements.

What is the difference between LOD and LOI?+

LOD (or LOG) covers geometry, LOI the information attached to objects. A model for building operations often needs more information than geometry, which is why you choose them separately.
