What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. localStorage, a storage area of the browser, works in a similar way. On this page, as the Italian Data Protection Authority guidelines do, we use the word cookies for both.
Without your consent, bimon.it uses no profiling or advertising cookies. Only if you click "Happy to help" in the banner do we turn on, in addition to analytics cookies, the marketing cookies of LinkedIn and Dealfront: they measure our LinkedIn campaigns, let us show our ads to people who visited the site and recognise the companies that visit us.
Technical storage: your consent choice
We save the key bimon-consent in localStorage to remember whether you chose "Happy to help" or "Reject" in the banner. It is strictly necessary and therefore does not require consent (Art. 122(1) of the Italian Privacy Code). It is valid for 6 months, after which we ask you to choose again.
Cookieless statistics
Some statistics tools are always on because they store nothing in your browser:
- Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights measure visits and site performance in aggregate form, without identifying individual visitors;
- PostHog in cookieless mode (PostHog Inc., data hosted in the EU, in Frankfurt) records pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, referring page, approximate country and type of device and browser. It uses no cookies, localStorage or sessionStorage, records no sessions and does not store your IP address. To count visits it uses a code calculated on the server from IP, user agent and a value that rotates daily: the code changes every day and is not stored in readable form.
Nothing is stored on or read from your device beyond what is technically necessary, with safeguards equivalent to those set out for analytics cookies in the Italian Data Protection Authority guidelines of 10 June 2021: that is why no consent is needed. You can still object by writing to info@bimon.it, or turn on your browser's tracking protection.
In the same way, we record anonymous usage of the free tools, for example the BIM Mandate Checker outcome and a value band, never the exact amount.
Analytics cookies, only with your consent
If you click "Happy to help" in the banner, PostHog switches to full mode: it recognises your browser when you come back and records browsing sessions with all form inputs masked.
To do so it stores the cookie ph_<project>_posthog and other keys with the prefix ph_ in cookies and localStorage, which last up to 1 year. We keep events for up to 12 months and session recordings for up to 30 days. If you then send the contact form or sign up for the newsletter, PostHog links the pages viewed during the visit to the details you gave us.
With consent we also save the key bimon-attr in sessionStorage, with the UTM parameters, referring site and landing page of the visit, so we can attach them to your request if you write to us. It is deleted when you close the tab.
If you click "Reject", or until you make a choice, PostHog stays in cookieless mode and stores nothing in your browser.
Marketing cookies, only with your consent
The same click on "Happy to help" turns on two marketing tools:
- LinkedIn Insight Tag (LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company): measures visits and requests coming from our LinkedIn campaigns, builds audiences of people who visited the site so we can show them our ads on LinkedIn, and gives us aggregate data on visitors' industry, job function and company size. LinkedIn sets cookies on its domains and on ours: li_fat_id (30 days), li_sugr (90 days), bcookie (1 year), lidc (24 hours), UserMatchHistory (30 days), AnalyticsSyncHistory (30 days) and li_gc (6 months). For these data LinkedIn is a joint controller with BIMON;
- Dealfront (Dealfront Group / Leadfeeder, EU): recognises the company a visit comes from, using the IP address and company databases, without aiming to identify individual people. It sets the cookie _lfa on our domain, which lasts 2 years, and hosts the data in the EU.
If you click "Reject", or until you make a choice, these tools are not loaded. You will find more details in our privacy notice.
List of cookies and storage items

bimon-lang | BIMON | Remembers the site language you chose (Italian, English or Arabic). | 12 months | Not required |
bimon-survey | BIMON (localStorage) | Remembers whether you already answered or closed the quick questions ("How did you hear about BIMON?", "What do you do?"), so we don't ask again. | Until cleared from the browser | Not required |
— | PostHog | No cookie or browser storage. Anonymous statistics: pages viewed, clicks and visits counted with a daily code calculated on the server. | Not applicable | Not required |
ph_<project>_posthog, ph_* | PostHog (cookie, localStorage) | Only after "Happy to help": recognises the browser across visits, rebuilds sessions and links browsing to whoever sends the contact form or signs up for the newsletter. | Up to 1 year | Required |
bimon-attr | BIMON (sessionStorage) | Only after "Happy to help": keeps the UTM parameters, referring site and landing page of the visit, to attach them to your request if you write to us. | Until you close the tab | Required |
li_fat_id, li_sugr, bcookie, lidc, UserMatchHistory, AnalyticsSyncHistory, li_gc | LinkedIn (cookie) | Only after "Happy to help": measures visits and conversions from LinkedIn campaigns, builds audiences for our LinkedIn ads and provides aggregate demographic data. | From 24 hours to 1 year | Required |
_lfa | Dealfront (cookie) | Only after "Happy to help": recognises the company a visit comes from, without identifying individual people. | 2 years | Required |
How to change your choice
You can change your mind at any time with the "Change cookie preferences" button at the top of this page or the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer: both reopen the banner with "Happy to help" and "Reject". If you reject after accepting, we delete PostHog's cookies and stored data from your browser and PostHog goes back to cookieless mode. From then on we no longer load LinkedIn and Dealfront; you can delete their cookies already set in your browser settings.
You can also delete or block cookies and localStorage in your browser settings, usually in the privacy and security section. If you delete bimon-consent, the banner appears again on your next visit.
Third-party content
Apart from the marketing tools described above, the site does not embed third-party content, such as videos, maps or social widgets, that could set their own cookies.
